Time has gone by in a blur since Al Giebel and Sanjiv Kaul founded ALSANJ that later was re-branded APAC TEAM in Singapore six years ago. APAC TEAM’s founding principal is straightforward and have not changed much since the beginning; engaging with mid-tier companies looking to enter and grow in Asian markets by leveraging the founders long experience and contacts in Asia.
From the early days until now APAC TEAM has been the “anti-consultant” as we do not TELL, we DO. By insisting on carrying our client’s cards, having client email addresses and joining the client’s sales team, we have been able to deliver great results at a lower cost to the client. The “contract sales” model has reduced investment risk and sped up time to market by leveraging a veteran sales team.
As with any new business model, there have been many ups and downs as some clients have churned off the program, but we have retained a number of partners much longer than we planned in the beginning. Even with significant sales grow and the cash to set up their own shop, many have taken the view “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
We have also been blessed to have worked across a number of industry sectors from frozen food to telecom equipment to industrial batteries to mobile apps to IoT technology. Currently we are working on LED power supplies, a revolutionary solar solution and indoor growing systems. It makes for never a dull moment as constant learning and re-training keep the team the sharp!
